Doc Kieft - Campus Involvement

Doc was the Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT) adviser for 25 years, as well as an athletic representative for 15 years. Doc Kieft was also involved in recruiting for the chemistry department (phone calls/tours), repairing and maintaining departmental instrumentation, and aiding the Athletic Department (Filming/Timing/Announcing). Doc Kieft served as a chairman of the Public Events Council, the Representative of the Senate Faculty Student Affairs Committee, and a member of the Faculty Senate. Doc Kieft was also responsible for the recognition of the Scotsmen when there were mixed views on whether the singing group should be formed. Doc stood up during one of the meetings and said, "Just let them Sing! That's all they want to do."
