Vagina Monologue

In the spring 2002, Trudi, the faculty advisor for the student group Coalition of Womens Awareness presented the play The Vagina Monologues as part of the V-Day College Campaign. The profits from the show were donated to a local domestic violence shelter Safe Harbor, located in Galesburg. The purpose was to raise awareness of international violence against women and to raise a donation for the women's shelter.

The Vagina Monologue is a 1996 play by Eve Ensler. As a result of this play, Eve Ensler started the annual event of V-Day in 1998. Colleges, communities, and other groups form part of this event to raise awareness against violence for women. Activists have the opportunity to also raise money and to donate the money to local facilities that work against violence for women.
