Dorothy started at Security Savings Bank with a self-made internship during her junior year of college. Since then she has held positions in the marketing department, depository desk, and has moved up into the Vice President of Security Savings Bank. Dorothy has only been working at Security Savings since graduating from Monmouth College in 1983.
Security Savings Bank began in 1882 when the Monmouth Homestead and Loan Association of Monmouth joined together to form a new financial establishment. In 1972, almost 100 years later, the institution was renamed as Security Savings and Loan Association when Monmouth Savings and Loan Association and the Stronghurst Building and Loan Association joined. Once the bank changed its charter to a savings bank charter, the name changed once again to Security Savings Bank in 1994. The bank started new programs for the community, including new financial services to its long-established responsibility of providing mortgage lending and deposit services. Today, Security Savings Bank focuses on the relationships with customers as well as involvement in the community along with personal, agricultural, and business financial needs.
