Rainbow Riders hosts the Youth Volunteer Leadership Program by encouraging and accepting young adults in the area to volunteer at the center. Karen thoroughly enjoys working with the youth and is incredibly grateful for their dedication and service to the community and the riders. She is aware of how many young community members are craving to work with the horses and the program in general. "There was a need to incorporate some kind of program that was going to feed these kids." With that in mind, she created the Youth Volunteer Leadership Program.
The Youth Volunteer Leadership Program was created when Galesburg Community Foundation provided funding to create a program containing 24 people in the summer. The program includes training the children to groom horses, take them to the arena and other training activities.
